This privacy policy explains how Ben Lambotte ("Ben", "he", "his", "the data controller") collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you visit benlambotte.com, contact Ben, request a 90-Day Growth Plan, sign up to a newsletter, or engage Ben for Google Ads, PPC, training, consultancy or speaking services.

Ben is the data controller for the personal data collected through this website and through direct client engagements. This policy is written to comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

1. Who Ben is

Ben Lambotte is an independent Google Ads consultant trading from Popes Head Court Offices, Peter Lane, York YO1 8SU, United Kingdom. You can contact Ben at any time at hello@benlambotte.com.

2. Personal data Ben collects

2.1 Information you give Ben directly

When you submit a form, email Ben, book a call or become a client, Ben may collect:

  • Name, job title and company name
  • Business email address and telephone number
  • Website URL and details about your business
  • Approximate monthly advertising budget and revenue
  • Goals, challenges and any context you share in messages
  • Billing details if you become a paying client

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit the website, the following may be collected:

  • IP address and approximate location (country / city level)
  • Device, browser type and screen size
  • Pages visited, referrer, time on page and clicks
  • Mouse movement, scroll behaviour and session recordings (via Mouseflow)
  • Google Click Identifier (gclid) for ad attribution

2.3 Information from third parties

When you give Ben access to your Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads or similar accounts as part of an engagement, Ben will process campaign performance data, conversion data and audience data on your behalf as a processor under your separate Data Processing Agreement.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

This website uses the following categories of cookies and tags:

  • Strictly necessary - required for the site to function (e.g. session, CSRF, load balancing).
  • Analytics - Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage.
  • Advertising - Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing tags via Google Tag Manager.
  • Session replay - Mouseflow records anonymised mouse movement, clicks and scroll behaviour to help Ben improve the site. Form fields and sensitive elements are masked by default.

5. Who Ben shares data with

Ben uses a small number of trusted processors to run the business. These include:

  • Google LLC / Google Ireland (Google Workspace, Google Ads, Analytics, Tag Manager)
  • Mouseflow ApS (session replay, EU-hosted)
  • Supabase Inc. (form submissions and content database)
  • Resend / email delivery providers (transactional and marketing email)
  • Cloudflare (hosting, CDN and security)
  • Stripe / GoCardless (payment processing for clients)
  • Xero / FreeAgent (accounting and invoicing)
  • Ben's accountant and professional advisers, where strictly necessary

Ben never sells personal data. Ben will only disclose data to law enforcement or regulators where legally required.

6. International transfers

Some processors are based outside the UK and EEA (notably in the United States). Where data is transferred internationally, Ben relies on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and additional safeguards as appropriate (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified).

7. How long Ben keeps data

  • Enquiry and qualification data: up to 24 months from last contact, then deleted.
  • Active client records: for the duration of the engagement and 7 years afterwards (HMRC requirement).
  • Marketing email contacts: until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days.
  • Analytics data: 14 months in Google Analytics 4.
  • Session recordings: maximum 90 days.

8. Security

Ben uses SSO with two-factor authentication, encrypted storage, least-privilege access controls, scoped Google Ads access (no password sharing), automatic backups and regular review of third-party processors. While no system is 100% secure, Ben takes appropriate organisational and technical measures to protect personal data.

9. Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal data Ben holds about you (right of access)
  • Ask Ben to correct inaccurate or incomplete data (rectification)
  • Ask Ben to delete your data where there is no compelling reason to keep it (erasure)
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the legal basis

10. Complaints

If you believe Ben has mishandled your personal data, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113. Ben would, however, appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns first.

11. Children

This website and Ben's services are intended for business users only. Ben does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has submitted data, please contact Ben so it can be deleted.

12. Changes to this policy

Ben may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the most recent version.
